Where does the new name for the rates come from?

The Packaging EPR rates are the new name for the former Green Dot rates. Under the new European PPWR legislation, the Green Dot logo may no longer be used on packaging as of 12 February 2027. Fost Plus has therefore discontinued its licence for use of the Green Dot logo. The new name also explicitly refers to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for packaging.

How are the Packaging EPR rates calculated?

The Packaging EPR rates are adapted each year based on the costs Fost Plus incurs for the collection, sorting and recycling of the packaging. Revenues that Fost Plus generates from the sale of the materials are also taken into account.

The document below explains how the Packaging EPR rates are calculated.

Here you can download a detailed overview of the Packaging EPR rates and their application criteria for each packaging material.
