Fost Plus sorting islands now available via intermunicipal companies and waste operators

For years, Fost Plus' sorting islands have been a familiar sight at our country's many festivals and events. Next year too, organisers can count on us. What is new is that from now on the sorting islands will be distributed both via the intermunicipal waste companies and via the waste operators, and no longer directly via Fost Plus.
In recent years, festivals and events have made great efforts to reduce their impact on the environment and public cleanliness. With results, because the volume of waste is visibly shrinking, thanks in part to the introduction of reusable cups.
Sorting is also in full swing. Selective collection of PMD was introduced at events and festivals some time ago. Organisers can rely on Fost Plus' extensive support for this, including free communication material, training of employees and Eco teams, field checks during the event, quality analyses and improvement advice.
Easily available for everyone
Our sorting islands play an important role in this story. Organisers can order free event kits, which include blue 240-litre containers for PMD, grey 240-litre containers for residual waste and stickers for the bins.
Even in the next season - in 2024, that is - they will continue to be available free of charge for all festivals and events. What is new is that they can now order the sorting islands from both their intermunicipal company and waste operator. Moreover, large events with more than 10,000 visitors no longer need to turn to Fost Plus, as they too can now contact their intermunicipal company or waste operator.
The sorting islands are of course still funded by Fost Plus and remain free of charge. Intermunicipal companies and waste operators may, however, charge logistics costs or demand a deposit. With the new scheme, we offer a uniform offer for all events and they can turn to a single point of contact for all their waste needs. And that can only benefit both organisers and visitors.
