RE-VRAC Belgium, the first barometer for bulk and reuse in Belgium, is a collaboration between Fost Plus and ConsomAction. The study analyzes the economic, social, and operational evolution of bulk and reuse in Belgium. The results are based on a limited sample of innovative players within the sector and serve as a basis for further monitoring market developments. They highlight the levers and challenges for reducing packaging waste and accelerating the transition to a circular economy.

Thanks to proven logistics systems, industry conviction, and cultural anchoring, Belgian companies have all the assets they need to make reusable packaging and bulk sales even more popular. The responses show that to make these systems viable alternatives to single-use packaging, even greater consumer engagement is crucial. Our ambition is clear: reuse and prevention, in addition to recycling, are the levers we need to evolve towards a truly sustainable packaging supply chain.
