Viesvuilland (Kingdom of Garbage) is an educational activity, tailored to very young children, with a fairytale context. The children learn more about preventing, sorting and recycling waste in a playful way, starting from their own world and experiences. Experienced animators teach the children why this is so vital and supervise the activity.
Children in nursery school (1st, 2nd and 3d year).
The workshop is conducted by the enthusiastic and experienced animators of GoodPlanet.
The activity for children in year 2 and 3 lasts 20 minutes longer because they are also shown an interactive film. Every year can participate in the activity in just one morning.

The activity focuses on the story of “Viesvuilland”, once a beautiful and clean kingdom where the people became lazy and started to throw litter on the ground. The litter angered the animals and trees of Viesvuilland, so they asked the king to do something about it. He dispatched his princes and princesses to all four corners of the kingdom to find a solution. And that is how they ended up in the nursery school…
The prince or princess introduces himself/herself and shows images of Viesvuilland from then and now, and asks the children for help and ideas to solve the waste problem in Viesvuilland. The children then help clean up the kingdom again in a sorting race. They are each given an item of waste and must put it in the right container after having overcome a number of obstacles. That is how they learn to sort waste. The king of Viesvuilland then congratulates them on their excellent sorting efforts and explains how this amazing recycling works and how they can personally help reduce waste.
